Fire Pits – Patio Heating Whatever The Weather

Fire Pits for Patio Heating are one way of fulfilling our desire for Outdoor Living when the weather doesn’t deliver.  To be fair, in the UK it is pretty much given that even in the best Summer we might need to extend the time we can be outdoors by adding in a little extra heating.  Unless it has been very warm for a longish period of time when the Sun goes down there is soon a chill in the air.

This can be frustrating when you have spent a lot of time and effort making your garden into an extension of your home. Having somewhere lovely to sit and enjoy the longer light evenings is a benefit on so many levels, helps us relax, switch off from the trials of the day and just unwind.  It is where we want to entertain our friends, enjoy a meal, read a good book or just sip a drink whilst watching the world go by.

Fire Pits come in all shapes and sizes. If you want something small and neat that doesn’t take up any space in your garden then you can use a Table Top Portable firepit such as the Cosi model which runs for up to six hours.

Firepit tables serve a double purpose – when the firepit is not in use, they serve as garden tables and are easily moved around the garden.

If you want something a little more elaborate that will heat a large area then you can go for a Fireplace. Your fireplace will need to be properly sited and installed for safety and efficiency but once set up they are very effective and the more unusual ones like the Ivyline Poole make quite a statement.

Most popular are the Fire Pit ‘bowls’ and there are lots to choose from in a range of styles and sizes to suit your garden.  Most are relatively portable so you can move them to wherever you are sitting in the garden – though do be careful about Pergolas, Gazebos and Parasols overhead.

A Fire Pit gives the whole seating area of your garden a lovely ambience on cooler evenings.  It will heat just the area required and very few require special fuel – charcoal or logs both work well.  As an added benefit they can be used to incinerate some materials under careful supervision, paper can flare up!  They need very little care and are easy to clean out ready for the next use

A nice advantage of Fire Pit bowls is that you can toast marshmallows  – or even crumpets if Summer forgets to arrive!
